Nautical Meets Edgy

I've pieced together this outfit and I fell in love with the shoes, but wanted to see what else could go with it and voilĂ  I've got a whole outfit (lipstick included).  I love the look--the anchors on the sweater make it nautical and the shoes of course give it an edgy vibe.

1. Madewell Anchors & Dots Sweater - $79.50
2. Helmut Lang Cocoon Cotton-Blend Jersey Mini Skirt - $140.00
3. Topshop AJ Cut Out Heavy Boots - $190.00
4. Hannah Mock Suspender Tights - $16.00
5. Tom Ford Private Blend Lipstick in Scarlet Rouge - $48.00

"It" Girl Cara Delevingne

By now many of you know exactly who Cara Delevingne is, and if you don't know her you have heard of her.  She popped up on the scene and the world went crazy with love for this supermodel.  When you see her you're instantly drawn to her eyebrows.  Most women go and get their eyebrows waxed or threaded to keep them thin.  The fact that Cara D. chooses to keep hers as they are already shows how much confidence she has.  Over the past  couple of months I've become a big fan of hers.  If you check out her Twitter or Instagram, you'll see how care-free she is.  She makes goofy faces, doesn't take herself serious, down-to-earth, and seems like she's just having fun with life, and that's what makes her stand out from most models.  I have watched videos of her talking to the paparazzi and taking pictures with them like she has known them for years.  She's walked the runway for top designers such as Burberry, Chanel, etc.  Cara has definitely taken the title of "IT" girl and she deserves.  A lot of people love her, and if you say you don't......well......you're lying, because it's just hard not to.

"Short Hair Don't Care"

Although shorter hairstyles have been around for many many years, it has become a very popular trend in Hollywood.  Every day a new celeb has cut their hair.  I hear that it's easier maintenance and doesn't require too much of your time. I love this trend simply because I like to see the many different styles that can be done--yes even though the hair is short, there are many different styles that can be done, I mean just take a look above at the different short cuts/styles there are.  So if you've been thinking about taking the plunge and going short, DO IT! What's stopping you? I cut my hair into a bob in 8th grade and it grew back my second semester of 9th grade.  I cried when I cut it but my Mom reminded me that it is just hair and it will grow back and it did!  Sometimes a new look could be just what you need.  Change can be good!

Are you a fan of longer hair or shorter hair?

Come And Take A Walk On The Wild Side

The "hair dye" trend has been around for many years and while it's always nice to have your dyed the traditional colors i.e. blonde, brown, black; it's always exciting to step outside of the box and go for a color that's extremely different.  I am absolutely in love with hair colors that are so far away from the norm.  These colors are bold, wild, outrageous and insanely cute.  I'm hoping to one day decide to just go for it and dye my hair one of these colors.  I haven't dyed my hair in 3 years, so it would definitely be nice to have something different, something I'm not used to having. I love them all I probably wouldn't even know which one to do, I'd end up with rainbow hair, eek.

What's your go-to hair color?

The 20/20 Experience

March 19th is going to be a GOOD day.  Want to know why?

That's right ladies and gents, JT is officially back.  I'm so excited for this album.  One thing I can say about Justin Timberlake is that he never disappoints and there is not one song I don't like by him.  I am a huge fan and it's been that way since N'SYNC.  I believe that this comeback was  much needed--I was starting to believe he was never coming back onto the music scene.  I've been listening to Future, Sex, Love, Sound since it came out because it was the most recent album, but now I can update my JT music.  2 songs have already come out on the album, Suit & Tie and Mirrors.  I am so in love with Mirrors, it is just a beautiful song and if you listen closely to the lyrics, you can tell how deeply in love he is with his lovely wife, Jessica Biel.

How cute are they on this cover of People Magazine?  and Jessica's pale pink wedding dress is FAB-U-LOUS!!

Army Jackets Are Life!!

Hey guys. Happy Monday!!  Sorry I haven't been keeping you up-to-date, I've just been feeling a bit under the weather, and I still am but I've come with good stuff.
I absolutely love this army jacket from Topshop. It's so cute and would match some items in my closet.  What sucks is that they don't have it in my size. BOOOOOOO!!!  I've been looking for a really nice army jacket that doesn't cost $300 FREAKIN DOLLARS, and just when I found it, they don't have it in the size that I need.  Guess I'll have to keep on with my mission, but for now I'll look at this one and continue to dream.

How great would it look with these shoes??

Absolutely

BUN-O-RAMA

I don't mind wearing my hair down, I enjoy it; it's comfortable, but there is just something about throwing your hair into a cute bun and going on about your day.  It's easy and if you're constantly doing something it doesn't get in the way as much as having your hair down will.  Lately I've become this bun addict, I feel like my hair is always in a bun, luckily for me and many other women and girls around the globe there are a TON of different bun styles.

What kind of hairstyle do you prefer?

Color Trend: Mint Green

Mint Green Is The New Black

Black has always been the “IT” color simply because it looks good on everyone and it’s just the go-to color.  Well move over black because there is a new “IT” color in town and that color is mint green.  This is really exciting, because green is my favorite color and mint green makes my heart melt.  Mint green= green to the next level.  It’s definitely a color that stands out.  When I first looked at the pics above, I instantly gravitated to the mint green and how amazing it looks.  Can it get any better than this?  I love that it can be worn in every season.  It just fits in perfectly!

"That Is So Chocolate Bar!"

This morning I was watching this show called The Doctors with my Mom.  I love this show because it teaches you all about the do's and don'ts with health and how to be healthy and a ton of facts you probably didn't know about your health.  Well this morning they were holding their 1st Annual Award Show, where they honor people for their contributions to health.  Let me just say there are some absolutely AMAZING people in this world.  I was inspired by the two little boys, Dylan, 6 and Jonah, 7, who won the Best Friends for Health award.  Jonah was born with glycogen storage disease 1B, a rare liver disorder that affects one in a million children.  300 people in the U.S. currently have it.  Jonah and his best friend Dylan have been friends since preschool.  Dylan wanted to help out Jonah, so he took it upon himself to write a book 'Chocolate Bar,' which he explained describes happiness.  In the book Dylan uses an expression "That's so chocolate bar," which his parents explained is Dylan's way of saying something is cool or awesome.  Dylan and Jonah sold over 200 copies of the book at the school book fair.  Dylan has raised, to date, $30,000 for Jonah's care.  If you would like to purchase Dylan's book Chocolate Bar, you can go here.  There is no cure at the moment for Jonah's condition, but let's donate so that we can help find a cure!!  I plan to purchase this book and give it to the little girls that I babysit, because I know it's something they'll enjoy :)

Tom Ford vs Prada

Happy Monday!!

I feel like crap right now, so I am currently on bed rest.  I'm absolutely bored so I was doing a little online shopping and realized I need a new bag for my computer.  I ran across some really cute totes and my computer's not that big so I know it'll fit but I'm not sure which one I should do?

                    Tom Ford                                                            Prada

I really like them both, but I like the Tom Ford more because of the side zippers.  The Prada is nice as well but it also doesn't look big enough.  Decisions, decisions....

Which Tote would you prefer?

Normal People Read the Summary

Maybe it's just me, but I thought that everyone read the summary on the back of books before actually going through with the purchase---guess I was wrong.  A couple of days ago I read this little paragraph about this Mom whose daughter's birthday was coming up and her daughter was turning 8 years old, so she wanted to get her a book.  The Mom sees this book:

and says "Oh this is the same author who wrote the Harry Potter series."  Now just to jog some of your memories,  J.K. Rowling said she would be writing a book that was for adults, and she had been talking about it for some time.  When her book finally dropped, a lot of people were comparing it to Fifty Shades of Grey (keep all of this in mind).  The Mom gave the book to her 8 year old who read it and came back to the Mom asking her questions about what she read in the book (drugs, sex, etc.)  The Mom says that bookstores should keep books like this behind the counter so that it won't get confused for children's books.  This is where I ask "Don't all people read the summary before purchasing the book?"  I completely disagree with this mother simply because J.K. Rowling had been talking about this book and it's adult content and no I'm not a parent, but isn't it the parents job to read the description on books before purchasing it for the child?  That's what my Mom did for me and my brother and that's what she does now for my sister who is 12.  I think books should stay exactly where they are and people should read the descriptions.  Just my opinion.  But other than that, I've heard this book is really good.

Do you think books with adult content should be place behind the counters?

Weird Dreams

I may just have the weirdest dreams ever!  The weird dreams I have make me feel like I'm on drugs---they make absolutely no sense and don't add up.  So a couple of nights ago I had this dream that my family and I were at this restaurant (a Texas Roadhouse to be exact) and we had this amazing fish (which is weird because those kind of restaurants are known for having great steak).  Well this fish was so good that my Mom wanted to replicate the recipe.  My Dad out of nowhere says "You guys wanna see a magic trick?"  as he pulls out this hat from behind his back (this is also weird because my Dad doesn't talk about magic nor does he really show any interest for it).  So he shows us this trick and we talk about how cool it was then we tell him how we had no idea he liked magic.  We are now at a grocery store and my Mom asks what kind of fish should she buy? Salmon or Cod?  While she is looking for her fish, this lady comes near my Dad, brother, sister and I and she's carrying a baby monkey that is wearing a diaper and is crying like an actual baby.  It was very weird.  All of us meet up with my Mom and she decides she is going to go with Cod and the dream ends.  Weird right?  It made no sense.  I find it extremely crazy that there was a monkey....in a diaper...that cried like a real baby.

What's the weirdest dream you've ever had?

Beyonce "Life Is But A Dream" Documentary

Now I'm not exactly sure how many of you are big Beyonce fans, but I'm a pretty big fan of hers and I am excited that she her documentary will be shown on HBO, tonight February 16 at 9:00 pm.  I will definitely be tuning in.  I was watching a movie a couple of weeks ago and a preview for this documentary showed and I made sure to put it in my calendar so that I wouldn't forget (which I did, so I'm thankful I did put it in my phone).  If you're a fan like I am then I hope you will get the opportunity to tune in and see what it's all about.  It almost seems like she's allowing us to take a look into her life?  I'm not really sure.  Guess that's a good enough reason for me to watch it tonight.

What celebrity do you wish would make a documentary?

T.G.I.F.

Hi everybody!!!  I am so angry that I'm posting when it close to 11:00 pm.  For some reason my internet has been down all day.  I tried to post before I left to go babysit but it wouldn't work and when I finally got home it still didn't work.  Finally I took it to my Mom and she fixed it, I still have absolutely no idea what happened, but I'm back on and that's all that matters,  I rely on the internet too much.

How delicious does this look?  It was so amazing.  I made it for my family and I tonight.  It was chicken over rice with green beans and I had some wine with it (which was amazing by the way).  The meal was great.  Sadly I have no plans for tonight, so it was eat, clean my face, and now I'm getting ready for bed.  Babysitting wore me out.

What are your Friday night plans?

Long Live Alexander McQueen

I have this extremely weird obsession with skulls---only if they're on my clothes, shoes, and accessories.  They give off an edgy vibe and I love that!!  So it only makes sense that I would be obsessed with the great Alexander McQueen.  I was just doing a little browsing and I ran across these CUTE clutches of his and I am so in love with them I just want them all.  I found some that didn't have skulls on them as well and they are all fabulous!!  There were many to choose from, but these are the ones that I favored the most!

What are some of your obsessions?

Stay & Now

So Rihanna and Paramore have dropped videos for their new singles.  Of course this is Rihanna's second single "Stay" off her album Unapologetic which came out in November.  I love this song so much and Mikky Ekko has an amazing voice.  It has kind of a raw nature to it, I love it.  Paramore has dropped their first single "Now" off of their new album that will be dropping soon.  It's been a while since Paramore has made an album so I'm really excited that they've dropped new music and I love the new single!!  A lot of people aren't really feeling it I guess because it's different but it sounds like classic Paramore to me.

Enjoy! :)

Say No To the Thigh Gap

I’m just browsing on the computer and what do I stumble upon?  None other than an article saying that girls are becoming anorexic to achieve something called a thigh gap.  For those of you who are like me, who had absolutely no f-----g idea what a thigh gap is, it is where your thighs do not touch, thus causing you to have a gap in between your legs.  So basically your legs are thin; borderline twigs.  Ohhh now I got it.  Glad that’s cleared up.  Well what exactly does this most wonderful thigh gap do?  Am I able to have magical powers with this thigh gap?  No you say?  Oh ok well why in the world would I want it.  I have no idea why someone would want something like this, I'm really tripping off this.  And what makes this trend even worse is the fact that girls are willing to harm themselves and their bodies in order to get this gap that really won’t do them any justice.  Call me mean but I think this is a stupid trend and I think girls NEED/MUST learn to love themselves for who they are.  Stop altering your bodies because believe it or not there is no such thing as a perfect body.  I also read that Twitter had to delete 30,000 images of thigh gaps that girls had been posting on the site and had to delete some topics that girls were trying to trend such as #proanorexia and #thinspiration.  This is very sickening, it’s not a game, it’s not funny, and it’s not cute.  The low self-esteem that I am witnessing happen more and more often is just sad.  I understand that it’s hard but we (females) have got to learn to love ourselves for who we are.  We have to love our hair, our bodies, and our skin tones.  We have to learn to stop tearing one another down because honestly this is how crap like “thigh gaps” gets started.   I refuse to believe that starving myself in order to have a thigh gap is attractive.  I'll take my closed thighs over anything that could cause harm to myself.

How do you guys feel about this whole thigh gap situation?

'Tis the Season of Love

In 2 days lovers all around the globe will come together to show their love for one another with gifts, chocolate, flowers and expensive dinners—that’s right everyone Valentine’s Day is near.  All the cute couples will be doing all the cute little things couples do (AWW!!) Oh but wait, what about those single people who have no Valentine??   Well I say buy yourself some chocolate or watch a movie, or hang out with friends.  I don’t know do whatever you please, don’t let this “most special” (Can you hear the sarcasm?) of days get you down.

Wait just one second….

Okay, yes Valentine’s Day is a special day (or at least that’s what society hypes it up to be)  but why must people go out of their way to do extremely special things for each other on this ONE DAY!!  I’m going to be honest and say I really don’t like Valentine’s Day simply because I’d rather have spontaneous dates or someone show me how much they like/care/love me any other day.  There are couples that won’t do anything special just because, but once Valentine’s Day rolls around will everything that is considered special…WRONG!  I’d rather do stuff any other time and not do anything on Valentine’s Day then not do anything and do everything Valentine’s Day.  This day is way too commercialized.  In no way am I trying to change anyone’s opinion, I am just merely stating my own.  So for those of you who are doing things for Valentine’s Day, continue, but for those who agree with me, I’m glad that I am not the only one who feels this way.  Hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with love!

Thanks to Tumblr and Buzzfeed, I am able to bring you some Valentine funnies :)

What are your Valentine's Day plans?
