For The Love of Music

Lately I have found myself listening to these 4 people more than anything and I love the fact that they all give me a different genre to listen to.  I love to have diversified music, I can't just listen to the same genre over and over.

Ed Sheeran has such a nice mellow sound of music.  His voice is absolutely amazing and he sorta reminds me of the British version of John Mayer.

Bruno Mars also has an amazing voice.  His music is more upbeat but still great nonetheless.

Lana Del Rey has a wonderful voice and her music has a very slow-type beat but once you listen to one of her songs you'll definitely want to hear more.

Last but not least is Frank Ocean.  He has a wonderful voice and his music ranges from slow-beat to upbeat.  I love it!

I listen to these 4 people almost everyday and I recommend them to anyone.  I believe that anybody could get into their music.

Cèline.

I'm going to be completely honest, I have never heard of Cèline before until recently and I am so so so in love with these handbags.  I just love the look of the bag and I want to purchase one now but I can't seem to figure out where to get them.  I know Bergdorf Goodman sells them, but since I don't live in New York, there is absolutely no way I'm going to get it and the website doesn't offer them.  I think Neiman Marcus sells them so I'll have to head on down to Buckhead whenever I get the time.

  

Woman Fired For Being "Irresistible"?

Not sure if many of you have heard about this news but it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard but this woman deserves a better job!

To make a long story short:  A Dental Assistant in Iowa was fired because her boss said she was irresistible and he didn't want to cheat on his wife.  I think this is a dumb reason to get fired and what makes it even worse is the fact that the courts completely agree with her boss?!?!  I'm not even sure how to feel about this.  I would be so pissed off if I were this woman.  I just hope she gets another job soon and I think that it's probably best she doesn't work there considering the circumstances.

Mitt Romney Didn't Want To Be President??

I don't really like to talk about Politics because it is just one of those topics where people won't respect your personal opinion, but I've been reading a lot of stuff on the internet lately and there have been reports that Tagg Romney is saying his father, Mitt Romney did not want to be President.  I'm sorry but I think he did want to be President.  I believe that if he didn't, he would have easily turned it down.  Based off of the debates and the campaigning, Mitt Romney seems like the type of person who, if he didn't want to do something, he wouldn't do it.  That is just my opinion; I won't get too deep into it.

Top Of The Line Nail Polish

Nail polish is probably one of the best things created.  It takes our nails from dull to fabulous! I've got this serious obsession with nail polish--I just love to try out different colors and to mix and match and to create little designs on my nails.  Now most people aren't really trying to spend too much on nail polish, but sometimes you've gotta treat yourself to some top of the line polish.

Never Underestimate The Power of The Christmas Season

December 1st marks the beginning of the Christmas season.  Around this time you will see either the worst in people or you'll see the best in people.  You'll also see the worse drivers ever it's ridiculous.

Yesterday my Mom, Sister, and I decided we wanted some doughnuts so we went to one of the best doughnut spots ever, Krispy Kreme.  I absolutely love their doughnuts and their coffee.  Well this man walks in and he has on a Santa hat and he sits down and enjoys him some doughnuts.  After he finishes he walks over to my Mom, Sister, and I and says "Merry Christmas to you ladies and I hope your holidays are filled with cheer. May God bless you and your family and bring peace to you." I thought that was the nicest thing ever.  He then goes on to tell us that he's been playing Santa in a play.  I compliment him on his hat and we also wish him a happy holiday and tell him "May God bless you and your family." 

It just goes to show that there are very extremely nice people out there and it's better to be nice than to be mean.

Things like this just make me happy and I hope that we all can continue to spread niceness instead of being mean and hateful toward each other.

Funny How Life Works...

When I was a little girl, I had dreams of becoming this big time actress, living in Los Angeles, California with no worries and living the good life.  I think I was eight at the time.  Fast forward thirteen years later and here I am, twenty-one years old, struggling college student, and this is something I would've never imagined when I was eight.  I guess that's the problem when you're that young--you believe that life is gonna be grand and perfect because as a kid that's how you see the world and that's how you picture your life.  You never imagine it to be anything less than what you have pictured in your head.  Now I will admit I'm happy I didn't go the route of becoming an actress because I don't think I could handle the fame. 

Now my twenty-one year old self would love to live in NYC in my amazing loft with my dog (which I do believe could happen, I just have to work extremely hard to get there).  

I'm not sure where exactly life is gonna take me, but I tell myself everyday to go after what I want in life because life is so very short and to do what I want to do because it is my life.

One day I hope I'm able to look back at my twenty-one year old self and be thankful that I never gave up and was able to reach my goal in life and be a successful person and be proud of who I am.

Gossip Girl Series Finale

Last night was the series finale of Gossip Girl and I literally cried on the last five minutes of it.  I'm so weird, I've got this thing that when my favorite shows come to an end it makes me emotional.  I did the same thing when Ugly Betty ended, which by the way was an awesome show and it angers me that it only had 60-something episodes, ugh!  Anyway, Gossip Girl had an amazing, long, drama filled run and I am still having bittersweet feelings about the ending.  I took it upon myself to record it so I will be able to watch it over and over and over again---I'm obsessed.  I'd like to see what the stars are gonna do from here because I'd definitely like to see them all in some other show or maybe a movie or something.  They're all great actors and actresses.  So here's to Gossip Girl for being one of the best shows on television!!!!!

A Sad Day

On my last post I started it off with Happy Friday because I believed that it was a good day.  Not even five minutes passed before I was told about the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut at an Elementary School.  20 little kids were shot and killed, 6 adults were killed.  My heart is hurting for the victims and their families and the fact that it was so close to Christmas only makes it hurt more.  I can't imagine what the families are going through right now but all I can do is pray.  My Mom is the one that told my brother, sister and I everything that happened. It's bringing tears to my eyes as I write this post.  None of us know what the future holds for us, neither is tomorrow promised for any of us.  We must learn to live life to the fullest, cherish everything, BE KIND, love and be happy regardless of our life situations.  To the families in Newtown, you are in my prayers......

Les Twins

So earlier this week my Mom showed me this video of these guys dancing and they were awesome!! Their stage name is the Les Twins and they're two French brothers that are dancers.  I checked out a couple of their YouTube vids and they are absolutely fantastic.  I've always been fascinated by dancers and everything that they do so I decided to share one of their videos with you guys.  I promise they're really good and cute lol so check them out! I found out they also were Beyonce's background dancers at the 2011 Billboard Awards which is cool.

The Haylor Song?

Last night before I went to bed I was on Twitter and I saw a tweet by Huffington Post that said "Fan pens hilarious song about Taylor Swift & Harry Styles' inevitable breakup #HaylorSong" well being that I do like One Direction and Taylor Swift I just had to check this song out.  

Not even lying, this girl has an amazing voice and let's just all go ahead and throw it out on the table and say that the song is SO FREAKIN FUNNY and catchy! I think the lyrics are great and I love how she used "Trouble" to make it.  Her video has already gone viral with 68k views!!! Trevor Project

I follow a very popular Youtuber by the name of Tyler Oakley on twitter and he has been tweeting about something called The Trevor Project (http://www.thetrevorproject.org/) for some time now and he mentioned that he would be hosting the red carpet for the event.  The event was held at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on Dec. 2, 2012.  Well I wasn't sure what exactly The Trevor Project was so I wanted to do some due diligence on it and I found that The Trevor Project is an organization that provides suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ youth.  I already think this organization is amazing.  You guys should definitely check out their website to see how the organization operates.  There were many celebrities at the event; Katy Perry was honored as a Trevor Hero at the event.  They also had performances and special appearances by many other celebrities.  I really like what this organization is all about and I think I'm going to volunteer :)

Sweater Obsession

So it's 12:53 AM and I have run across this site that sells the cutest and most reasonably priced sweaters I've ever seen and this is great considering my recent sweater obsession. I have no idea why I want nothing but sweaters but I want them and I want them NOW! lol This fall and winter season have had the best sweaters I've seen in a while. So I looked at some reviews for the site and I'm not so sure if I'd purchase anything from here. First, it comes from Singapore so it took a long time for some people to receive their packages. Second, one customer never received her package and never got her refund. So now I am on the hunt for a new place that sells sweaters and have GOOD customer service, so just bare with me guys.

At Home Pedicure Remedy

While it's always easier to go to your closest nail salon and get a pedicure, it's so much more relaxing to treat yourself to an at home pedicure and it's cheaper.  I've done it and love it.  Get ready for your very own SPA DAY!!!

To start things off you want to soak your feet; softening and cleaning them. Fill a tub with warm water and 2 tablespoons of epsom salt OR kosher salt (whichever you prefer). Soak feet for approx. 20 minutes.

Next, creating the foot scrub. Mix 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.  Rub mixture over feet.  This will remove dead skin cells and thoroughly clean feet.

Last, apply lotion or if you would like, rub 2 tablespoons of olive oil over feet and let dry--giving your feet the ultimate smooth feeling.

*Treat yourself to a nice glass of wine to top it all off :)*

Swirl

      

So there's this new app for iPhone called Swirl that I downloaded a couple of weeks ago and I'm just gonna say that it is freakin addicting.  It's a fashion app and it allows you to follow all your favorite stores (which are listed in alphabetical order) and you can clip items and put them into categories.

Ex: Weekend Style, Night out, Just for me, etc.

There are all kinds of deals that go on like 40% off at _insert store name_ and it's just really cool to have an app like that on the go.  I have yet to purchase anything yet but I'm definitely working on that.  I've just been clipping a lot of items that I would like but I definitely recommend this app to anyone who love shopping!!

Officially 21!!!

Well I turned the big "2-1" on Saturday and honestly I feel the exact same as I did when I was 20 lol.  It doesn't feel any different, the only thing is I can drink sooo I guess that's cool.  I didn't really do much that day I was mainly tired.  My older brother tried his best to take me out but like I said I was tired and my eyes were burning which sucked.  I did take shots with my Mom which was pretty cool haha yep I have the coolest Madre EVER! Be jealous!  No but seriously it's awesome to be able to see another day and I am really happy I got to see yet another birthday!!!

21st Birthday

So in 5 days 10 hours 19 minutes and 34 seconds  it will be my 21st birthday and to be quite honest I have absolutely NO idea what I'm gonna do.  I was originally gonna be in New York but not so much anymore and I'm not even sad because NY will happen this I know. But the problem is, since I am now staying home what do I do? I have no idea where to go. I don't want to be anywhere where I have to stand up the entire time because if I'm in heels(which more than likely I will be) that will be so uncomfortable and I don't want my feet to hurt and I'm definitely not trying to take my shoes off. I'll probably come up with some last minute plan the day before. I'm tempted to just buy a couple of movies, stay in, and enjoy me some shots wine lol.

Justin & Selena

Wow! Wow! Wow!

It has been quite a week with these two. They have been all over the Trending Topic board on Twitter. It started a couple of days ago when apparently rumors were going around about Justin and some VS Model named Barbara Palvin (I'm not sure how true this is but that's why it's called a rumor)

Well yesterday just Selena's name was on the board because she posted a picture of Justin, Lil' Twist, and Barbara Palvin. Once she tweeted that pic the whole twitterverse went insane with everyone trying to figure out what exactly was going on. I was able to do a little digging and found that Justin supposedly went to the Lion King play in NYC with Barbara and Twist--seems innocent right? That's what I thought, but it couldn't have been too innocent if Selena tweeted the pic with the caption being "....." Oh but people let me not leave out the fact that Lil' Twist posted the picture on his twitter page and then immediately deleted it; that's where the suspicion kicks in. Why would he feel the need to immediately delete it afterward? And why would Selena tweet it with that caption? 

Still with me? Let's continue!

Lil' Twist later in the day made a post that said:

So me being the over-dramatic person I am, I basically took that as him trying to cover up the fact that he posted the picture then deleted it, therefore making him look a bit guilty. 

It doesn't really matter though because whatever happened is between Justin & Selena and even though they're broken up at the moment I hope that they can either A.) Take their relationship as a learning experience and move on with life or B.) Reconcile. 

Let's face it people, break ups happen. No matter who you are you're going to break up or be broken up with at least once....or twice.....or thrice...you get my point. It happens and this is life!

Although I did really like them as a couple.

Who Should Play Christian Grey?

Okay guys, this is a topic that I have focused on for some time now (I wanna say since maybe June lol). I've only read the first book of the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, and to be honest it was alright.  I personally think if there was a little more dialogue all the parts that contained sex (about 99.9% of the book) wouldn't be as bad. Moving away from that, there have been lots of talk about who should be the one to play Mr. Christian Grey.

Like many I have my picks on whom I think should play him and it's only right that I share them with you. By the way, they're listed in order, with the first person being who I think should REALLY play him.

Ian Somerhalder

H-E-L-L-O! He screams Christian Grey! If you read the book they give a really good description of what Grey looks like and he fits that description, plus if you watch The Vampire Diaries, like myself (favorite show), you will see that he has the demeanor to play Grey. He's got everything for that role and this could really prove how talented he really truly is.

Christian Bale

So I was DEFINITELY against this at first, I mean c'mon he's freakin Batman so of course I was extremely against this decision. Batman does not partake in BDSM, he is a superhero. That was until I watched American Psycho for the first time. Boy oh boy did I underestimate this guy. If you've seen the movie then you'll understand what I'm talking about. He was a narcissistic egomaniac. It was such a crazy movie and watching that proved to me that this man is completely capable of playing Christian Grey. 

 Matt Bomer

Okay I will admit that at first I didn't see it. Yes he's good looking but he just seems so nice, he just didn't seem to fit the personality of Grey but they do say never judge a book by its cover. I went to see Magic Mike and all of that "oh he just seems so nice" was right out the window. He could definitely play Grey. Unfortunately a lot of women are saying no simply because he is gay, but that means absolutely nothing!! He's a very good actor (check out his show White Collar) and I think he could definitely play the role.

Shia Labeouf

Besides the fact that I am somewhat in love with him, I could see him playing the role of Christian Grey. Reports have said that he has expressed interest in playing the role as well. I remember when he was Louis on Even Stevens and here he is all grown up. What really made me realize that he could play the role is his new movie called 'Nymphomaniac' which is self explanatory. With that being said he's got the look and he could really pull it off and no I am not being biased about this lol.
