Craig & Karl for MCM

I've just found out about this amazing collaboration happening with MCM and artists Craig Redman and Karl Maier, ironically named "Eyes On The Horizon" and I'm excited about it.  I had no idea who they were so of course I did my research and I am extremely impressed with their work.  Not to mention the funky eyes that are displayed on the pieces that will have you instantaneously drawn---I have never seen anything like it.

If you're into pop-illustrations that make you feel like you're in the 80s, I highly suggest everyone check out their work on their website craigandkarl.com and their blog craigandkarl.tumblr.com

Being that I love art and pop-illustrations and am a huge fan of anything and everything that has to do with the 80s, this collection is screaming my name!

Billboard Music Awards 2013: Best Dressed

Hello lovely readers!!

I want to apologize for my lack of blogging, I've been so so busy but I am back and I plan to make it my duty to never leave you guys hanging like that :)!

Another day and another award show has passed us by.  Sunday night, millions tuned into the Billboard Music Awards, and it was the highest they have ever had in rankings.  In my opinion it was great; could have been more amazing.  I know most will disagree.

There were tons of celebs that walked the blue carpet and looked great, and there were some that didn't look so great but that is not the reason for this post.  I bring to you the best dressed celebrities from the BBMAs that not only I agree were the best dressed, but the media also believed were the best dressed.

Taylor Swift looked absolutely stunning in this dress.  I've been noticing that she has been making more bold choices when it comes to her carpet looks and I love, love, loooovvee it!

Nicki Minaj looked amaze in this beautiful red dress and her makeup looks great as well--not over the top at all.  This look reminds me of something you'd wear when going to prom.  She looked great!

Just like T. Swift, Selena Gomez has also been making some very bold choices for her carpet looks.  I love how she's going for more mature looks.  This dress really stood out with the neon colored pieces.

Wow!  When I saw Shania Twain's blue carpet look I instantly fell in love.  This dress just screams perfection!!!  It looks like it has an ombrรจ effect and I love it.  Let's not forget the jewelry that matches so perfectly with the dress.

Ah yes, Miley Cyrus!!!  If you ask me Miley's carpet looks always look great (and I'm not being biased), I think she always manages to look great and this Balmain jumpsuit only proves it!  Also congrats to her for being #1 on Maxim's Hot 100 list!!!

Kelly Rowland is another celeb who always manages to have carpet looks that never disappoint!!  I love the crossover effect of the dress and the split gives this dress an A++.  Absolutely love it!

I really love this carpet look that J.Lo is rocking!  This is one woman who can make a low cut dress look fantastic!!

Hayden Pannettiere has been everywhere lately and everything (carpet and non-carpet) she wears looks wonderful.  I've seen a picture of her in a plain shirt, yoga pants, with a baseball cap on her head and thought "OH MY GOSH she looks gorgeous!"  The ruffled neckline really gives this dress a little more pizazz!

Emmy Rossum looked great!  I'm in love with the dress and maybe it's just me, but it looks like it may have a velvet texture which I'm really loving!!  Did you know that Emmy Rossum was in The Day After Tomorrow ?  I can't believe I just found this out lol.

Ariana Grande's style has always been cute!  Her outfit choices always remind me of something from the 60s, but this is completely different (color wise).  Ariana normally leans more toward the colorful side but this is such a bold choice and I love it.  This dress has a little more sheer style on the midriff area, but it still has the flare look that you'll see on most of Ariana's looks.

When You Ready Come & Get It

Can you guys keep a secret?  Well I am so obsessed with that song Come and Get It by Selena Gomez.  I know I know who wouldn't be, right?  It's so catchy.  I listen to it like every day and it's such a good dancing song plus it's wonderful for when I work out.  It has just the right tempo to run on the treadmill with.  I've been a Selena Gomez fan for a while--ever since her days on Wizards of Waverly Place to be exact (yes I watched that show and loved it!).  It's been a while since she's made some music; focusing on her acting career or traveling around the world with her love Mr. Bieber, but I'm so happy that she's back making some music because she always makes songs that I feel like I can really vibe to.

Check out the premiere of her official music video for Come and Get It, Tuesday, March 7.

Make a Statement.

Most women and girls all over the world, if not all, love big bold jewelry.  Why?  It stands out, it makes the outfit pop.  I have been a big fan of bold jewelry for as long as I can remember and I just love how it compliments whatever outfit I'm wearing.

I've just recently come across a site that sells jewelry, Baublebar.  I have never heard of this place but I instantly fell in love after scrolling through and seeing what all they had to offer.

There are tons of gorgeous necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings on there and they are broken down into sub-categories.  For example, you will see the category labeled 'Necklaces;' the sub-categories for Necklaces are: Statement, Delicate, Strand, Collar, Pendant, Links, & Bib.  I find this so well organized.  I like to be able to look at jewelry without feeling so overwhelmed by it.

Since the topic of this post is all about "Statement,"  I picked some pieces from the statement categories for Necklaces, Earrings, & Rings that I fell in love with!

I found myself gasping these necklaces--just look at how beautiful they are!  I'm going through so many emotions just looking at them.  Definitely love at first sight.

I have dubbed these earrings the "head turners."  It's pretty self-explanatory.  These will surely have people asking "Where did your beautiful earrings come from?"

Last but not least, these gorgeous rings!  You're doing things with your hands all day, everyday--when you're out and about these definitely won't go unnoticed, they're very hard to miss.

Where do you get some of your favorite pieces of jewelry?

The Purge

Not too long ago I was on Youtube and this ad for a movie started playing.  At first it didn't seem like a big deal until I saw "From the creators of Paranormal Activity and Insidious," so of course I was instantly freaked out a little bit and it just so happened that I couldn't skip the ad, so here I am stuck watching a movie trailer that could possibly scare the crap out of me--boy was I wrong!

Based off of the trailer, the movie doesn't look scary at all.  It seems more along the lines of thriller, so there's a possibility that there may be a couple of jumpy scenes but nothing too over the top.

The movie is basically about everything going extremely good in the U.S.  Almost everyone is employed, there's little-to-no crime, and everyone seems happy.  One night a year, for 12 hours all crime is legal and people are allowed to "purge" their systems of anything they're feeling and take it out on random people.  I won't tell the rest, I'll just leave it up to you guys to watch the trailer which will be posted below.  To me this seems like it's going to be a pretty cool movie to go see.  It really got me to thinking...what if the world was really like that?  In a way it would be kind of scary because everyone's a target but on the upper hand it's only for 12 hours and the world is pretty much a decent place any other time.

I think this movie is really going to make people start thinking a lot about the world we live in.  Obviously the creators of the movie had to have been thinking "What if the world was a better place except for one day?"  It's definitely going to be a must see for the summer!

The Purge starring Ethan Hawke & Lena Headey

What are your thoughts on this thriller?

Get Lucky + INDICUD

Oh yes people, Daft Punk is back!!

Social media definitely can have it's perks at times and one of those perks is being the first to find out about certain things.  Daft Punk's new single 'Get Lucky' off of their upcoming album Random Access Memories was leaked last week.  Of course for an artist having your song leaked can completely suck but at the same time it can be major bonus points. Your fans get the opportunity to experience the awesomeness of your song/album and more than likely if they're a die-hard fan, they're gonna buy it.

I was able to finally listen to the song and I loved it! I've been a Daft Punk fan since I first heard One More Time twelve years ago (I was 9 years old) and boy was that song a hit--still is!  So of course I was more than ecstatic about Get Lucky--psst, Pharrell is even in it, what more could you ask for?!?.

Daft Punk- Get Lucky

Along with the excitement of Daft Punk's new single, Kid Cudi also brought some music greatness with his album Indicud.  For those that don't know me, I am a HUGE Kid Cudi fan!!  Back in my freshman year of college I listened to Man On The Moon: The End of The Day every..single..day, I kid you not.  It was always Kid Cudi, Justin Bieber, Drake, or Tokio Hotel. I haven't been able to buy the album yet, but thanks to the oh so wonderful Youtube I have been able to listen to it and as always he doesn't disappoint!

Beyonce + H&M

As always Beyonce looks absolutely flawless as she flaunts in the most recent H&M commercial for their swimwear while debuting her new single Standing In The Sun.

I am a huge Beyonce fan (like majority of the people living on this Earth) and I am so happy that she was chosen to do this commercial.  Take a look below:

13 Gifs On Why You Should Watch New Girl

I absolutely LOVE the show New Girl.  I've been watching it since Day 1 and cant' get enough of it--it's hilarity at its finest.  You've got Jess (Zooey Deschanel), the fun and funky girl who moves in with three complete and total strangers, only to become the best of friends with them; Cece (Hannah Simone), the best friend of Jess who is a model and isn't afraid to tell it like it is; Nick Miller (Jake Johnson), one of Jess' roommates who's a bartender and constantly talks about how he has no money; Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris), another one of Jess' roommates who also happens to be one of Nick's bestfriends.  He's very over the top with pranks and speaks his mind a lot; and then there's Schmidt (Max Greenfield), who is the last roommate and is also best friends with Nick (they've been friends since college).  Schmidt is the dramatic one out of the bunch.

The show is great and if you've never watched it, I give you 13 Gifs On Why You Should Watch New Girl...

Icona Pop- I Love It

I'm not exactly sure how I'm always late when it comes to certain songs and it really sucks when I find out about artists and songs almost A WHOLE YEAR LATE!!!!

I must be occasionally living under a rock or something because I have never heard of Icona Pop until just recently (once when my sister played their song and another time when I was watching Vampire Diaries).

It doesn't really matter when I found out, the good thing is that I found out and I am absolutely in love.  Their song 'I Love It' is so upbeat and catchy and just makes you want to dance until the sun comes up.  I've expressed before that I love almost every genre of music and this song is definitely different from what I normally listen to--that's what makes it stand out!

I know it's only Wednesday, but here's a little something to get your blood flowing.
ENJOY!!

Summer Shorts

As many of you know summer is literally right around the corner and I know I was excited for spring but I am absolutely ecstatic for summer to be here.  I live in the south which means hot weather and sun! And today's weather makes me even more excited for summer because for some odd reason it's like 50 something degrees out, breezy, and cloudy and I hate it!  It was sunny and felt great yesterday but it doesn't really surprise me, our weather is always bipolar---literally it'll be raining one minute and sunny and blazing the next.  It makes it really hard to dress for that day's weather.  I'm really gonna need the weather to cooperate.

Enough of my rambling; I was browsing online and came across some cool shorts and of course felt that I should share.  If you're anything like me, you can never have too many shorts!

American Eagle always has some of the best and cutest shorts at the most affordable prices.  Their shorts are very 'festive' looking which is why I love them so much.  These shorts just scream summer.

Almost every girl I know loves Nasty Gal!  Their shorts are extremely different from most.  The first two pairs of shorts gave off an edgy vibe which is why I liked them the most (the skull crusher shorts are my fave).  The third pair has more of a girly vibe; they remind me of cotton candy.  These shorts will definitely turn heads.
*The Woodstock Cutoff Shorts are currently sold out, but there are tons of other choices that are just as cute!

Planet Blue's clothing are more bohemian meets hippie.  If you've never heard of them check them out here.  At first glance these shorts look like they just have fabric stitched onto them--NOWHERE CLOSE!--I fell in love with these because of the bleached effect but also because the pocket is actually paint or something of that substance.  I mean really who wouldn't want to wear these?  They're a little more pricey than most shorts but I bet they're totally worth it!

Where are some places you get your summer shorts from?

Reasons Why My Son Is Crying

I've come across the funniest little Tumblr page called Reasons My Son Is Crying, and it is the funniest thing ever.  Thanks to Perez Hilton's post, I have been able to have a good laugh and it has put me in a way better mood.  Who knew that creating a page with loads of pictures of your two sons crying would be an instant hit?  The Tumblr page has been such a hit, it even gave the Dad a chance to be on Good Morning America, which I think is awesome.  It just goes to show how powerful the internet really is and how fast things can go viral.

It's Not Always About Starbucks....

So do I Daria, so do I.

Where does one go to obtain coffee like this?

I too ponder over hot coffee Spongebob.

Maybe this is the best cup of coffee Ashley's ever had.

Okay so Starbucks may be the best coffee around, or so everyone thinks...

I absolutely love Starbucks but I don't mind trying new coffee spots either--Yes other coffee places do exist *gasp*.

Most will argue that Starbucks is the best place to get coffee on Earth, many would completely disagree with that simply for the fact that you can't claim something is the best on Earth if it's the only thing you've ever had.  Meaning, if you've only had Starbucks, how do you know if it's the best coffee?  You've never even tried anything else.

Thanks to The Daily Meal, a list of the 33 best coffee shops in America was created and I'm so happy because the city I live in: Atlanta, Ga, made the list twice with two different coffee shops--YIPPEE! Of course I've never been to these coffee shops in my life, but now that I know there are two down here that made a "best" list I'm definitely going to try them out.  It'll be different and different can be good--sometimes.

Check out America's Best Coffee Shops on  The Daily Meal here

P.S. Even if you're not from the U.S., you can still see what have been named some of the best coffee shops, who knows maybe one day when you travel here...if you travel here you can try it too :)

Are there any coffee shops on here that you noticed?  Have you ever been?

Cheers To The Freakin' Weekend

Sometime in November (after my 21st) my bestie and I were hanging out and we found a drink recipe on Pinnacle Vodka's Facebook to try.  It was so so so good and I must try it again some time soon!

I figured since it's Friday and a lot of people will be going out/staying in to have a good time, I decided to share the recipe with you guys.

Pinnacle Vodka Funrise Recipe
  • 1 Part Pinnacle Vodka (We used Pinnacle Whipped)
  • 1 Part Orange Juice
  • 1 Part Pineapple Juice
  • Splash Grenadine
Mix in a glass with ice and garnish with a cherry.

As you can tell, based off of the picture of the finished product, we really didn't go by the recipe but that's what makes it fun!  Sometimes you just have to do things by eye.  The drink was really good--next time I'm gonna try it with regular Pinnacle Vodka because it was extremely sweet.

What's your favorite drink? It can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic.
